The West End Neighborhood is home to over 1700 households and businesses in downtown Jonesboro. Jonesboro Magnet Schools, the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library, several community organizations, and beautiful historic homes line the streets of this little slice of downtown community between Main and Gee Streets and Nettleton and Burke Avenue. Home to it’s own neighborhood association, West End members are actively involved in community forums, clean up events, and of course, downtown!
From hosting National Night Outs with our local law enforcement, to working with the City of Jonesboro to facilitate grant opportunities for a park, the West End Neighborhood Association is always working to advocate for better public spaces. To stay better informed about happenings in the West End, the organization hosts monthly meetings at the Jonesboro Microsociety Magnet School. If you’re a new neighbor to the West End, or are interested in participating, these meetings are a great jump start!
In addition to working alongside several civic groups and promoting better community involvement, the West End Neighborhood is home to some of Jonesboro’s oldest and significant historic homes. Take a drive down beautiful Matthews avenue in the fall, or head down Washington in the early spring to take in the beauty of this area, or to find that perfect dream home!
